Seit der Veröffentlichung des ersten Android SDKs vor 5 Jahren hat sich die Entwicklung von Android-Anwendungen erheblich vereinfacht. Nicht nur die Android-API ist erwachsen geworden, auch Tools haben sich etabliert. Insbesondere sind viele Open-Source-Bibliotheken entstanden, die Quasi-Standardfunktionalität zur Verfügung stellen. Dieser Vortrag stellt sie vor und diskutiert, wie sie das Leben der Android-Entwickler einfacher machen. Die Palette reicht von UI-Elementen bis zu ereignisorientierten Frameworks.

Über den Autor Friedger Müffke: Dr. Friedger Müffke is co-founder of the open source community OpenIntents.org that showcases and promotes the intents system in Android (and other platforms). He works as an Android developer at Novoda, Berlin and has founded and organized the Android conferences droidcon since 2009. Über den Autor Benjamin Weiss: After moving to Berlin in 2009 Benjamin started developing Applications for Android. Shortly after that he became manager of Berlin's Android Usergroup "GDG Android in Berlin" which holds monthly meetups. He has co-organized Android related community events such as "GTUG Community Weekend", "Global Android Dev Camp" and “GDG DevFest”. While studying Business Computing he and his team developed the Guinness World Record holding Open Source App Blinkendroid. He has also developed the Crouton library for Android. Further is a member of c-base hackerspace's mobile interfaces project that is currently focusing on home automation. Since 2012 Benjamin is working as a Senior Software Developer at ImmobilienScout24.
