Modern software development relies heavily on CI/CD systems, but what happens when external platforms like GitHub go down or become inaccessible? OpenCloud addresses this risk by building a fully self-hosted, vendor-independent CI/CD infrastructure. This talk walks through our migration from Drone.io to Woodpecker CI, covering the architectural decisions behind the switch, how we ensure business continuity when third-party services fail, and how we integrated k6 load tests, Playwright E2E tests, and integration/acceptance testing into the pipeline. Expect practical lessons learned and a candid look at the trade-offs of going fully self-hosted.
