We'll take you on a picture tour of all the big and small things that could have moved people through space and time, but in our reality do not. This talk will take you on an illustrated tour through various kinds of mobilities that could have been: From modes that were killed of largely by a few tragic events, like Zeppelins and faster than sound air travel, to the one's that were just forgotten by the wayside like a rusty old bike in a canal; from the large infrastructure projects that were never fully utilised because diesel was too cheap, to the ones that never made any sense to begin with; from the ginormous border fence, to the small barriers that stop us from crossing the road in the way we would like. Inspired by urban geographies of waste, this tour is meant to make you think about how we could have moved through the world, how we could have moved through the boundaries of space and time. Wir geben euch einen Einblick in die Herausforderungen bei der Entwicklung der Boxen, zeigen euch, was in ihnen steckt, und erklären, wie es mit dem Projekt weitergeht. Die Boxen selbst erheben Werte zum Mikroklima, wie Lufttemperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeit, ermitteln Feinstaubwerte, messen und klassifizieren Lärm und sollen Verkehr zählen. Weil das Netz der Boxen sehr dicht ist, können wir damit auch echte Einblicke in einzelne Straßenzüge bekommen, wo andere Modelle sonst häufig nur interpolieren können. Wir möchten euch in diesem Talk zeigen, wie dieses Erfassen von Umweltdaten und dezentrale Kommunikation in Krisenfällen zusammenpassen, und wie wir versuchen, als öffentliches Forschungsprojekt ein gutes Open Data Projekt zu werden und dabei die Anwohner\*innen vor Ort mitzunehmen. Dazu geben wir euch einen Einblick in die Ziele, den Entwicklungsprozess und die praktische Umsetzung der Heinerboxen. Wir sind übrigens Forschende von der TU Darmstadt, die im Projekt emergenCITY und dem Anwendungszentrum DiReX arbeiten. Wir verwenden selbstentwickelte Platinen rund um den Raspbery Pi RP2350B und betreiben ein eigenes LoRaWAN-Netz im Viertel. Außerdem steckt in den Boxen noch ein ESP32-S3, den wir für Experimente mit drahtlosen Kommunikationsprotokollen für Krisenfälle einsetzen können. Dabei stehen ihm das LoRa Radio der Box und die integrierte WiFi- und BLE-Funktion zur Verfügung, um dezentrale Kommunikationsnetze aufzubauen oder z.B. eine Verbindung für die Smartphones von Anwohner\*innen bereitzustellen.
